Oklahoma’s top ranked football program, Jenks High School, shut out Westmoore, one of the state’s other powerhouses on Friday.
The game got off to a slow start, with neither able to gain any offensive momentum. In the second quarter, Jenks finally made it onto the scoreboard when Trent Taber scored the first of his two touchdowns on the night. The Trojans led 10-0 by the half after marking a field goal before the end of the second quarter.
In the third quarter, Taber punched in another touchdown from three yards out. Later on, Dylan Harding caught a 38 yards pass from Cooper Nunley for a touchdown. Harding finished with two receptions for 86 yards.
Despite only gaining 231 total yards of offense, Jenks was always secure due to their outstanding defense. Westmoore is a talented team, with an offense that has scored over 30 points in five games, and before Friday, was undefeated. Even so, the Trojans were able to hold off the Jaguars, even from threatening positions deep in Jenks’ territory.
Advancing to 7-0, Jenks advances to a 7-0 record and 10th in the DigitalSports National Football Rankings. Their next opponent is Muskogee High School on Friday, October 25.
